305/700R4 Issues

Just picked up an '84 C10 shortbed and I noticed a few things right off the bat.

1st: Intermittent SES light at idle/stop-and-go driving. Clears itself after I get on the highway for a few miles. Smells a little rich at idle. Do these trucks have an ECM/diagnostic port? (I didn't think they did)

2nd: I belive it's a 700R4 trans, correct? Trans is "hunting" at low speed/rpm. Like after rolling a stop sign, it stays in 2nd, then drops to 1st, then back to 2nd quite suddenly. Not sure what to make of it.

Any thoughts?

Gratuitous pic opportunity:
