After disc conversion, same offset?

Hello

I have a clean 1970 GMC 2wd with 6 lug drums
I want to static drop as much as I can and buy wheels ASAP so I have a nice weekend driver. Most likely 20x8.5 and 22x10 wheels.

Eventually it will be bagged with disc brakes but I am on a TIGHT budget and its going to be a couple years before it all gets done. I would like to do wheels and static drop now, then next summer convert to discs/drop spindles, then bag it over the following winter. Having to convert the thing to discs was a BIG unforseen expense when I planned this whole project.

My question is, after I swap to disc brakes using a conversion kit, are my wheels still going to fit properly in regards to offset? Will the new disc conversion retain the same offset as the factory drums? I cant seem to find an answer and i DONT want to assume its going to be exactly the same. I need to know for sure before I spend the money on wheels.

Anyone have any info they can share?

Thanks in advance
Lonnie
