Low fuel pressure help needed
After setting my fuel pressure to 7 psi it seems to drop off to around 2-1/2 psi. It has gone so low that it actually dropped down to zero, but the truck kept running. When I tried to readjust the pressure up, it wouldn't increase.
I am running a new 383 stroker engine with new mechanical fuel pump and Quick Fuel 780 CFM carb. I ran new 3/8" rubber fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump with an inline filter in between. I also have a filter between the pump and fuel pressure regulator. I'm wondering if it's overkill by having the two filters. Seems like there's a restriction somewhere. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.
