73+ steering columns

So I've been thinking about my options for steering columns since I'm converting to an auto from a manual. My understanding is the van column is the way to go if I'm not going with a 67-72 column. Is the only thing keeping us away from using the 73+ truck columns that the key is on the column?

Since the 73+ columns are plentiful I was thinking about the idea of installing a "push to start" button on the side of the column in place of the key cylinder.

What do you guys think?
