milky oil.....AGAIN!!
ok everyone, i took the intake and heads off my 350. there was some water in my number 7 cylinder but no where else. intake gaskets looks old and crusty, as did the head gaskets. no signs of leaking on the intake. a few of the water jacket openings on the heads and head gaskets were blocked or very close to being blocked with corrosion. so, after hours and hours of cleaning and blowing compressed air and cleaning again and again, all mating surfaces looked great. checked with a straight edge and no warping anywhere. bought new gaskets, installed, put sealant on the head bolts, torqued down, put on an aluminum gm intake to replace the beat up cast iron one and torqued down. got everything back on, changed filter, added new oil, added new coolant and she fired right up and sounds great. checked oil, little milky still, figure its left over from before. add new filter and oil. drive to gas station and around for about 40 minutes straight. truck is running great. good power. oil pressure is over the half way line on the stock gauge. get home, and there is milky oil leaking on the front cross member dripping down from what looks like the front oil pan gasket. i checked the oil before i left and it was clear. check when i got home and it was about a quarter inch higher than when i left and its milky again. there is no smoke coming from the exhaust, it runs good. not sure what to do or where to check now im about ready to give up on this engine!!
