A/C selector switch...upsidedown/backwards?

A while back I had to change the actuator on my blend door. Got that fixed and of course the plastic piece on the door broke. No problem, ordered another piece. Finally got around to installing and thought I was going to be in business. WRONG!

As I move the selector switch from left to right, the door operates opposite what I want it to do. When it's on the A/C cycles, air blows on the floor and the door looks like the 2nd pic.

When it's on heat and defrost, it blows the air through the vents and the door looks like the 1st pic.

I tried turning the vacuum selector switch upside down, but that didn't do anything.

I did replace it a while back because I thought it was the problem before I realized it was the actuator. Do they make different ones?

It's been a while, but I do believe I remember working correctly before all of this.
