Anything that chemically removes that old glue will very likely remove the paint as well. Try Acetone or Lacquer Thinner, maybe Naphtha in the form of lighter fluid? WD-40? You can always opt for Methyl Ethyl Ketone or Brake Clean, and dont rule out the Carburetor Cleaner. Most of the above will render your "OCD" quite secondary in the realm of health & disorder issues. Thats to say nothing of the flammable and explosive environment created inside the cab. Heres a healthy idea...Dust Mask, Z-87 Safety Glasses, and the Wire Wheel followed up with some touch up paint?
