Well then, in all seriousness, the way the truck is setup, the load you are hauling, the way you drive makes huge differences.

As mine sits, unloaded, a K30 with a SM465 (no overdrive) 4.11 gears, and 35" tall tires, 350 v8 and original carb I get roughly 12mpg, that is all wide open country driving probably 95% highway 5% city, and babying the throttle. Recently I made a 200mi round trip 70mph on the interstate with an empty trailer there, and then a 69 K5 Blazer and a bed full of parts on the trip home, I averaged 10.5 that day. A couple weeks ago I made another trip, about 100mi round trip to pick up a 71 C10, about 75% highway 25% city, I got right at 9mpg that trip.

I have had bad tanks too, 8mpg or so when I have used it around the farm a lot.

These numbers are all hand calculated, fill the tank to full, mark down the mileage on the odo. I do apply a 15% correction factor due to my taller 35" tires vs the tiny 30" tall stock tires that the odometer was calibrated to.

Also I noticed my mileage bump up about 1mpg when I went to the 35"s due to my highway driving and keeping the rpms down on the highway. If you did a lot of city driving, I'm sure you would have the exact opposite results.

I would guess a big block truck would be 2-3mpg less unloaded, and maybe just 1mpg or so less loaded.
