Re: Crash's 72 K10
Started the teardown today.. I removed the bed, bumpers, bumper brackets, grill, hood, and then started on the front fender..
After I got the passenger side fender off I placed wood blocks on each side of the fender on the door end and then applied about 220 pounds to the center of the door side edge. This seemed to have the effect I was looking for. The profile looks much better now when compared to the door. Before I pulled the cab I installed the sport mirrors. I used the drawings from the 67-72 manual.. I think they came out ok… After that I continued tearing the cab down for removal. Cab is ready to be moved to the painter as soon as he is ready for it. In the mean time I will be removing the engine, transmission, and transfer case to get to the pacific fabrication cross member. It appears to be close to the oil pan, so I am sending it back to them to modify it.
