1966 Chevrolet K10 from orig owner in NY
hey guys, I always loved this style truck and one of my buddies was doing some land clearing and putting a lawn in at an older house and came across this rig sitting next to the garage in the back. He asked the homeowner if it was for sale and the guy said he'd have to ask his dad since it was his. We ended up getting it and thankfully my friend decided he wanted to keep it so it is sitting at his place-not mine. The first thing we did was take the homebuilt storage box and wooden bed rack off and give it a good washing. This is what we found underneath! The LIBBA stickers on the side of the truck stand for Long Island Beach Buggy Association. The orig. owner bought it strictly to tow his boat and drive on the beach. It has a 235 inline 6 complete with oil bath air filter, 4 speed manual toploader, original transfer case and axles too! I was pretty surprised to see a closed knuckle drum brake front end in this truck. Most of them near me have been ripped out in place of something modern with discs on it. Overall it is a pretty solid truck for a beach truck but it will need front fenders, rockers, all bed wood, and various size and placement of patch panels here and there. It came with a set of custom-made wide rims that were welded together but also has a set of GM truck Rally wheels with 33x12.50 BF Goodrich All-Terrains. Believe it or not the guy had it registered, insured and inspected the whole time he has owned it. You'll also note the wheel chock tied to the mirror for the trips to the boat ramp.
