A Little Rear End Help Please - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I replaced the pinion oil seal as it was
leaking onto the pinion yoke and being
sprayed onto the under side of the bed.
Well, the problem is that the notes that I took
when I replaced the seal are LOST. Don't
how many threads were showing on the
pinion shaft before the nut was removed.
So...I'm going to have to guess to get it into
the ball park.

Could 2/3 people check their rear ends to
see how many threads are showing?
Maybe I can do an average and get it in the
ballpark.
