Running Dual Exhaust with 4WD V20

A question to anyone who has a set up similar to my 1987 V20 who has installed dual exhaust, or anyone who just knows the answer =).

I am looking at some new downpipes to convert over from my stock single exhaust to dual exhaust and I noticed that the space between the body and the tranny mount on the passenger side is rather occupied by a transfer case support rod/brace.

How have you, or how would you, run the exhaust past or thru that point?

Would I run the down pipe under the tranny mount and then redirect it after the tranny mount upwards again in between the frame or would I run it in between the bottom of the body and the tranny mount threading it above the transfer case rod/brace?

Any suggestions in general on the best way to accomplish this?

Thanks

I still havn't posted a pic of my truck so I will run out and take a few snap shots and get down and take a photo of what I am talking about to make my question more clear.
