Trans-am clip on a 58 step-side

Hi guys im not new to the site but I am new to this section. My dad passed away about a year ago and left me his 58 big window step side that has been sitting and rotting away for years now. The body has the normal rot issues but thats nothing new to me since I live in maryland and have a 67 c-10 and several 2nd gen f-body's. My question is weather or not it is worth the effort to use my 81 trans-am front clip with all new susspension(tubular control arms and coilovers) under my 58. I have heard a lot of stories about failed attemps and how the rebuild cost of a used clip is high. I am looking for som advice and maybe a good step by step how to. So I run into as few problems as possible.

Thanks
Karl
