Big-truck style air suspension?
Good morning all. I recently acquired a truck load of new old stock Firestone & Goodyear air bags from a trucking company that closed their doors.
I am thinking really hard about replacing the leaf springs on the rear of my '82 CC dually with a set of boxed trailing arms off the front leaf spring mounts & mount a pair of the tall canister-style air bags behind the axle, similar to what the current Ford F650's have. I've been searching through old posts all morning and everything I have found were lowered 4-link setups with c-notches and bags mounted in the c-notch. I love the way the lowered trucks look but I personally want to keep a near-stock ride height & still be able to take the truck out through the pasture, across ditches, etc. Here's my truck: Has anybody ever done a setup like I want to build on a square bodies dually? I am shooting for a smooth ride (loaded & empty), self-leveling, & the ability to raise/lower the rear of the truck for easy hookup to trailers. Any input would be greatly appreciated. If it would ride rough & bounce a lot I'd sure like to know now before I dive into it. Scott Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |
