Crossmember swap - What spring to use?

I'm swapping in a 1987 Disc brake front end into my 1966 fleetside shortbed. The front end came with everything including power steering and power brakes out of a regular cab long bed. Should I use the 1966 springs or the 1987 springs? I imagine the 1987 truck weighed more. My concern is would the 1987 springs lift the front end higher, but I don't know if the 1966 springs will fit? Both coils has 8 turns. The 1966 wire diameter is .750" whereas the 1987 wire diameter is .760".

Thank you,
Kevin C
