Unhappy How Do I know what my engine is?

My father has a Chevy engine that came out of a 1963 Chevy 3/4 truck. He has been saying for a year or so I can have the 327 that he has to replace the V6 in my 65 GMC.

Now that I am ready to put it in, I want to buy the Clutch Disc, Pilot Bearing and pressure plate and I tried to confirm with him that it is a 327. Now he says that he. "WAS TOLD IT WAS 327.".

That tells me he has no idea and is just repeating what he was told. How can I know for sure so I can get what I need for it?

I hope someone can give me a tell tale thing to look for so I can be sure.

Thanks all for your help...

Frustrated in Reno...
