Fuel pressure regulator question

Rookie question as I don't have much experience w/ electric fuel pumps. I noticed yesterday that the regulator has a leak, I can't really tell what part it's coming from.

I want to pull it but don't know how much fuel I can expect to come shooting out if there is pressure built up. Any steps I need to take before I remove it?

Thanks!
