Shift Indicator adjustment

Hello Everyone. I'm new to the site. I've learned a lot about my truck by just reading other questions and answers. you guys are a wealth of knowledge.
I have a question. I've seached the board and looked at the other threads about the shift indicator. I've seen other pictures that look similar to mine. They all say to adjust the linkage. I've tried that. No matter how long or short I make the linkage, it doesn't change the pointer on the column.
I've even disconnected the linkage and it is still off to the left.
Is there an adjustment in the column?

I don't thinbk this is the original column. Could that have anything to do with it?

Thanks in advance for all the help.
