Steering Wheel screw SPARKS?

So, I was going to put in the bow tie center for the steering wheel. I believe it is original because the steering wheel looks really beat up. As, I was unscrewing the screws that hold the metal circle which holds the center piece, one screw had sparks when I touched it with the screw driver. No shock but I quickly put the screws back like they were.
Anybody know why there were sparks? Thanks
