1968 GMC and Introduction
Hello all,
I’ve been coming around the 67-72 site for a few years now from time to time. I figured it was about time to introduce myself and after 14 years of waiting finally start my build. The story of my truck is a familiar one to many of you on this forum. My dad bought the truck in 1968 and it has been in the family ever since. I have owned it for the last 22 years and it was my daily driver for about 8 years when I decided to start restoring it…… Then life, work, and every excuse in the world got in the way. Well 14 years later and a very supporting wife we are finally getting started on it. Our plan is to finish the truck buy Aug of 2014. That would be 46 years to the month my dad purchased it. I’m trying to get it done quick enough so my dad may still have a chance to enjoy it. He has MS and every year gets a little tougher. He loved this truck and I want him to see it completed and take it for a spin. I live up here in the North West. Marysville to be exact. I’m looking forward to this project and appreciate all the info on this site. The people here truly amaze me with all the help and information they provide. Marcus Here is a pic of my starting point. My cab is in pretty bad shape so we took delvery a couple weeks back of this mostly rust free cab and a really clean frame. |
