how hard is it to rebuild 1b rochester car

Starting to notice my carb is acting up in the morning after releasing the manual choke it putts and once I awhile on very cold days my truck comes and or leaves on a stop putting like if it had a missing fire im also noticing a slight backfire from the float allowing more fuel in it so im wondering if I should attempt a rebuild it myself or send it to get rebuilt since ive never rebuilt a carb and being a tech ive never have fixed one besides replacing or adjusting do to todays modern complexes systems
