Nice original 69-72 RH front fender
I came across a really nice RH front fender for 69-72. I found it on Craigslist and just went to check it out. I thought someone might be able to use it. I can't, I have a 68 and a GMC or I would just hang on to it.
The story behind this fender is it was found in the top attic storage of a body shop. It had apparently been there since the early 90's. The guy I bought it from said he had planned to use it on his truck but just decided to fix the one that was on it instead. Here's the kicker .. On the back side of the fender, it had a plastic ziplock bag taped to it. The remains of what I THINK is the original GM sticker from it .. Humm. Could it be an NOS fender? Honestly I am not sure and that's how I would like to represent it. All I know is it is super nice and straight and feels really heavy like a GM fender would. I had re-pop metal on the front of my stepside when I bought it and there is a definite difference. I have posted two other threads about how to tell if it's truly an original fender and all I have is the original part number. 3936668 If you look at the picture of what's left of the sticker, .. it makes sense. Also, On the back of the fender where the GM sticker normally is .. there is a shiney spot where it looks like it used to be. I tried to get a picture of every angle .. It looks like a GM fender to me. You decide. $400 shipped in con US. The first 'I'll take it' gets it. No PMs please, all responses in the thread. If you need specific pictures, or if you know how to tell please let me know. I will be happy to send whatever you need. Chad
