GMC part numbers usually start with 2 as Chevrolet part numbers started with 3, series 1960-66. Notice how the wood part numbers start with 3. If GMC parts were shared with Chevrolet, the Chevrolet part number was used.
Statement at the bottom of General Information pertaining to Chevrolet's all inclusive illustrations and part numbers all in the same book is true. I ended separating the illustrations from the part numbers into two separate books as to prevent flipping back and forth.
