1971 c30 lt1
Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I recently purchased a 1971 C30 with an LT1 swap in it. The engine is out of a 96 Caprice. It has a stock 4 speed with a granny gear and 4.10 gears. This thing sounds awesome with 2.5" exhaust into flowmasters. Basically what I want to do is update the brakes to start! It already has stock rotors but they're shot and I know rotors are impossible to come by. I've researched the 73-87 swap too the brink of insanity and have decided that's the route I'm going. I need to be reassured before I do anything. I gathered from my research I can still use my existing upper and lower control arms but need to install new ball joints. I need new spindles, tie rods, rotors, calipers, rubber hoses, bearings etc from a 73-87. Is there any thing else I am forgetting. It has a vacuum booster already and power steering. I also want to swap the rear to a 14 bolt or at least something that I can get brake parts for, maybe even rear disc's if possible. Is this an easy swap and are the dimensions the same or similar? I also need to clean up the frame and spring hangers because the have some pretty nice scale and rust going on them. I have one spring hanger that's shot and I know I cant get one to replace it. Can I use one from lets say an 84 c30 and just retrofit the bolt holes to work? Or maybe replace all of them from a donor that I can swap the rear from? Feed back is greatly appreciated. Like I said this is my first post and my first project build and want to do it the right and safest way and be educated on these vehicles. I have pictures below.
