Non Barn Find '66 Chevy Truck

-
Added 15 pictures 1/23/2013

Greetings to the '60-'66 board members.

I usually hang out over on the '67-'72 board but I thought you guys & gals might like to see what I looked at yesterday. It isn't a barn find but as you can see it is a machine shed find. The guy that owns it (Eddie) is 94 years old and just moved to a nursing home. Eddie bought the truck new and finally quit driving it about 4 or 5 years ago. It is in amazing shape for an Iowa farm truck. It has the high tourque 283 V-8 and a three speed column shift. I took a lot of pictures but lost most of them because I laid my hand held cordless trouble light next to the camera on the car seat. The trouble light has a strong magnet on the side of it and the magnet scrambled the pictures on the card. These are all I was able to save. I took a small tarp and my trouble light so I could check it out underneath and the body mounts and floorboards look really good. I don't know a lot about the '66 trucks but the seat cover looks original and is in good shape. The wood bed is nice except for one of the short boards in the front passengers side corner.(one of the pic I lost) It isn't rotted but it is warped. Tailgate is really nice.(another pic lost) As you can see, the truck needs a good cleaning, but I think it would look pretty good after a bath.

What are your thoughts on a fair price on this? I don't want to steal it but I don't want to over pay for it either.. I do know that you don't run on to many un-molested original trucks around here, but like I said I don't know a lot about the '60-'66's.

Does anyone know what the Z62AA is on the SPID?

Thanks.
