350 combo help

Hey guys! First time poster here!

So Here's the deal, I just bought a 65 step side with a stock-ish 350. It's my first project, and I'm bit by the go fast bug. Any advice on a combo that would be a strong street combo? I found this article, and have ben thinking of using this as the base for my mods.

About the only thing that I might change is to go to a FAST EZ EFI set up, or something similar. But I'm open to advice! Is the 280 too much cam? I'm not going to be driving it everyday, just a weekend cruiser. I also need some advice about stall speed. It currently has a TH 350 with 3.73's.

Cant wait to get started on this thing...
