Scat cast 383 stroker crank, SFI balancer and auto flexplate, main studs and windage
The cam in my 383 went flat, (along with other issues) so I yanked it in order to install a 355 I already had so I can sell the car to my nephew. The crank was standard size and only has around 10k miles, but has some signs of damage, mostly to the mains, from the cam getting wiped, but nothing too serious. I can't feel anything with my fingernail on most journals, and on the two that I can, it is minor. I think this crank could be saved by polishing it, but figure worse case scenario going .010/ .010. IMO, it looks worse in the photos than it really is. If everyone balks, I can have it polished/ turned, but the price will adjust accordingly.
The Scat SFI flexplate has no flaws or defects whatsoever. Same for the harmonic balancer. They are both external balanced. No damage to the main studs and windage tray as well. I am looking trade for stock new or used 71 SBC 350 head bolts, rocker arm/ nuts/ balls, push rods, flywheel and possibly harmonic balancer. I would like to sell it all together for $225. If after a few days it doesn't sell: Crank $100 Flexplate $50 Balancer $50 Main studs/ Windage tray $50 All prices PLUS shipping Evidently the engine had been detonating, as the several of the KB hypereutectic pistons has cracked ring lands. The rods were just stock, so I didn't include the pistons and rods, but if anyone is interested just ask. Last edited by WIDESIDE72; 02-02-2013 at 02:12 AM. |
