Question What is right

Someone told me I should put a vent on my valve cover. Someone else said that I shouldn't. They said you don't want to use a vent when you have a pcv valve. I don't know anything about this. What is right? Someone else suggested that the proper way is to put pcv valve on one valve cover at back of motor and vent on other valve cover at front of motor. Or does any of this even matter. Thanks a lot.
