Edelbrock bleed-down question

Does the Edelbrock Q-jet replacement (1903) have the same issues of fuel leaking through the well plugs as the original Q-jet? If I let my '85 sit more than 24 hours it takes a while, about 5 or 6 cranking periods for the fuel to flow. Once it does, fires right up. I'm thinking the fuel is leaking down through the bottom of the carb and essentially has to be re-primed.

I'd appreciate any thoughts on this and, also, I've never pulled a carb, is there anything tricky about it?

Thanks in advance
