Cab floor.... strange find? maybe...

hey guys, today I decided to pull out my seats to work under the dash & got a wild hair up my rear to just pull out the carpet as well...
Maybe someone can help fill me in on some things I found that I know nothing about...

Pictures say a 1000 words.

WHAT WHERE THE 3 RAISED AREAS IN THE FLOOR USED FOR?
ALSO, WHAT IS THAT PIECE BOLTED TO THE FLOOR USED FOR?

WHAT ARE THESE TWO BRACKETS USED FOR?

Also I have to ask, did 68 cabs come with the 2 lower knobs for the gas pedal? Mine has them....

Any wisdom on this topic would be grateful.....

Scott
