where to buy a quality starter

Hello everyone,

1989, v2500, 5.7, 400t

My starter still sounds horrible and I have run out of energy fooling with it. I purchased one from autozone, replaced it, and replaced it again. Yes i know most if not all parts from these stores are junk. I used to buy Napa but their stuff seems more junky than most.

Does anyone have a recommendation where I can purchase a new starter. I do not need a high torque but do not mind spending the money if someone has firsthand knowledge of them. I see a few from summit but I have never used one myself. Not sure if the dealer is the answer either?

My flywheel is in great shape. "Just installed a new hughes converter"
The latest starter is a duralast new manufactured.
It measure .059 with zero shims.
installed .025 shim and made zero difference in sound

I know the chevy starters can be finicky, but on all my other chevys over the years, none were like this.

Thank you,
Chris
