'60-'61 Apache 40 info needed
I'm looking for info on '60/'61 Apache 40s...
What was their rating? 3/4-ton, 1-ton, 2-ton? What front suspension did they have under them? I found a stake-bed Apache 40 with dual rear wheels, with matching front wheels, but it has regular pickup-style front fenders, not the big truck fenders with the flares. I'm thinking it was a medium-duty farm truck back in the day, but I don't know what it's real capabilities were. The chassis, bed and cab, hood, grill and surround are in excellent shape. Doors and fenders are throw-aways. The wheels are in excellent shape, with the black factory paint still on them (same with the exposed part of the frame under the bed... It was barn-kept for years by the looks of things). The rims are 1pc, too--not the split-rim widow makers. I'm seriously considering buying it later this year. -Brad
