Battery Charger question.

I have a power wheels battery (kids toy) that I use this charger to charge. It takes a special plug to charge the battery. So i cut the wires and added connections so I can switch back and forth from the plug to the regular clamps. My question is will these connections mess up the battery charger? I know it will add a little resistance to the wires but I don’t know if that resistance will hurt the charger. Anybody have any knowledge about this?
