Redo the dash
Hey guy's been working on my dash in the 71 and wanted some opinion's on how to finish it up. I rewired all the new gauges and made a pigtail for them into the old wiring plug in the back of the dash. I re did the bright light and added the brake warning light also. I also put some spacers on the bottom of the dash to tilt the dash up for better viewing while driving about a 1/2". What I need to know is what to use for a spacer between the bezal and the metal dash itself. I had thought about making a clay mold then fiberglassing it. I just don't know. Maybe some kind of sheet metal.
I cut some stuff today to make a cover under the dash back to the fire wall so you want see much of the under side when you look inside the truck. My upholstery guy is going to cover it for me but I need something to go between the dash and bezal. Any body seen anything are has done this before LMK please. Thanks

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |
