Recommendations on stock trailing arms ?

Was wanting to know what most people do to there stock trailing arms if they remove them. I just removed mine and I am about to have them power coated. They look great but I have heard of where the u bolt goes through that sometimes they can spit! Just want to see if y'all recommend welding the gap or just leave them alone. Thanks for the advice
