4L60E Torque converter ?'S

Ok my engine wouldn't start until I disconnected the flywheel from the converter......dropped the trans and converter won't make a full turn with out binding and then unturnable? I don't think it's the trans because outter shaft spends fine without converter connected. 6.0 and trans was purchased from a salvage yard and has been sitting for about seven years till recently. I was told engine and trans came out of a 2004 chevy truck. If it is the stall any recommendations for new one?
