A couple of 72 install questions; gas pedal and horn contact

My dad's 72 has been back from the body shop for a while and I'm trying to get it back together. They pulled a lot apart that I wasn't aware that they were going to and of course didn't put it back or even document anything.

They actually lost the gas pedal assembly. I found another one but I am installing it with new firewall insulation and it is a bear. I assume that the whole gas pedal Assy goes on over the cardboard, but I am having he'll getting all of the pieces lined up. Any ideas?

The second issue is the horn contact on the tilt wheel. They pulled the wheel off to paint the column and broke the horn cancel cam. The old wheel was toast and they tossed it. I bought a new cancel cam and contact from LMC but there is no groove in the tube on the cancel cam like shown in the photo. I have never dis assembled a 67-72 set up before, but have done a lot of post 73 gm's. Normally you put the contact in and turn it half a turn or so. Do I need to send the LMC part back and buy local?
