Buying NOS?

So i have a deal in the works... Not sure if it will go through or not, but need some insight.

Long story short a friend who was once big into 67-72 trucks has cut his collection down to just one Pick up. However he supposedly has a huge pile of new GM certified parts. Evidently he went in the 80s and bought out stock from Chevy dealers through out WY, CO, S. Dakota, etc. and bought a ton of parts. He is looking to off load everything. I am not sure what he has other than his entire basement "full". He had an inventory list of everything that was printed when he moved the inventory from his old shop into the basement.

My questions for the board are:

1. What should I be looking for? What sort of things are rare or valued?

2. Are there items that have little worth?

Basically he collected the items because he was big into original parts and restoration. I will find out more in days to come.
