It's very dangerous stuff , gasoline is . VW's catch fire because of either the rubber fuel hose rotting & leaking fuel onto the distributor or because the brass nipple slips out of the carby inlet with the same results . In both cases, it takes the spark to ignite the leaking gasoline . In years past , drill bits were hand sharpened on a grinding wheel then quenched in a cup of gasolne as the quenching of gasoline worked better than water at retaining the hardness of the hot drill bit .
