Cutting a 2" drop spring

Iv got 2 " drop spindles and 2" drop spings in the front right now and I would like it just a little lower. Anyone ever cut an already dropped spring? I know its not the nice way to do it, but just enought for another inch or 1 1/2 inches. I know the ride may stiffen up and bit and $114 isn't a whole lot of money for 3" springs, but $114 would buy me something else. Im just asking if someones done it and what they thought about it. Pictures would be great if you had em.
Thanks fellas
-Andrew
