2 fuel tanks, 1 problem

I have a 1990 R3500 with dual tanks. I alternate fuel tanks to keep the fuel fresh. I just switched to my right tank and used it for about 50 miles when it started dying on me, especially at idle. When I switch back to the left tank it runs fine. Do these trucks share a fuel pump and filter or do they each have their own? I thought bad gas but it ran fine for the first 1/4 tank. I'm just looking for some suggestions on possible causes.
