To resto mod or not to restomod..?

Got a little predicament guys....

I have the opportunity to purchase a 1967 chevelle SS396 in Beep Water Blue. Its a numbers matching car with quite a bit of rust. I know many are divided on the subject of leaving it original and restoring it or retomodding it. These are my 2 ideas:

1. Restore it to factory (body, interior, gauges, engine, tranny, etc.) and updating the suspension to ridetech coil overs and better disc brakes. I also thought about the idea of running the 18" american racing rallye wheels with BFG redlines to give it a classic yet modern look. If choosing this option I would re-work the engine to get a little more power using the factory block and heads. Besides the wheels, suspension and brakes, everything else would remain original as coded on the cowl tag and in the build sheet.

2. Restore the body to factory using the factory color (Deep Water Blue) adding a little metallic for a modern pop, factory interior color, Dakota digital gauges, with a custom steering wheel on an ididit column. The powerplant would be an LS3 bored to 396ci to keep with the factory 396 cubic inch, entropy radiator with efans, 6L80E trans with the twistmachines 6spd paddles, beef up the factory 12 bolt with new posi, gears, and axles. I would use the same suspension and wheels as above.
