Re: Rebuilding 71 crossmember..
Picked up my parts today! (Still no pix probably wont bother uploading any until I go back to WA and have spare time).
Got the upper BJ's in (easy) but the lowers meh not so much. I rented a tool but I couldnt figure it out in mulitple configurations so Im going to get another one from somewhere else (got it from carquest) I watched a youtube video of someone doing it with an autozone kit. I spray bombed the cross shafts for the A arms and then said ya know what I'll regret bombing the spindles and shafts so they'll get powdercoated too. Dropping them off tomorow hopefully he can do them quick otherwise I'll have to get someone to pick them up for me and wait until next time. Right now its a 4.5" front drop and will be a 5 or 6" rear drop. Idk if I'll C notch or not. My ? for tonite is- Would it be OK to powdercoat the crontol shafts for the A arms? Im planning on doing the spindles (drop) and the 4 shafts. Everythings poppin' with red bushings and calipers and black powdercoat Im scared the truck will be too nice to drive... But Im having fun (minus the lower BJ's and not having the spindles and stuff powdercoated earlier......)
