ill take my chances, i had them on my s10 with no problems.
dot approved like i said is just a name. its like buying name brand appliances or clothing. looks the same and does the same. my buddy owns the local fitting shop and knows his stuff so i go to him if i have any questions. if there is a situation that you need you system inspected at a truck stop or weigh station they can check the labled fitting "dot" if there is not dot you can be given a huge fine but the ones not labeled dot are still made in the same factory on the same manufacture line as for the copper is has alot of strucktural integrity. there is no drastic bends in my air system to give this tubing the stress in rough or vibrating conditions, yes it my discolor when exposed to the elements but is still plenty strong
