Sitting for 35 years
Looks like I am buying a 72 shorty that has been sitting for 35 years. I think I have a good Idea on what needs to be done. I would like to start a discussion maybe someone who has done this already will have some pointers.
The truck is a 72 with 35K on the clock. It is a I6 3 on the tree. Check to see if the motor is frozen Check to see if the clutch is rusted Change oil Drain and flush coolant Service rear Service manual (Do they have drain lugs?) Crain brake fluid Disassemble brakes all around, Rebuild calipers and wheel cylinder Replace master cylinder. Replace flex hoses, inspect metal lines, one heck of a stomp test once it done. Drain fuel tank, Replace rubber fuel lines. Filter I am sure I am missing some stuff.
