Painted rims and black chrome lugs
I have been loving my newly found truck and I know that this year will not be the year the body gets any serious love.. right now I working on getting it to pass inspection from NYS and the Mrs... so new lights, fuses and a leaky gas tank was the first to be done for NYS and a new carpet and good cleaning to make the lady feel welcome. But the rims just make ache....there is not a lot of aftermarket choices for 8 luggers but to be honest I like the look for original steel so for a small amount i can have the rims sand blasted, painted black and I think it will look awesome but my concern is the lug nuts and axles,, I found a set of black chrome lugs that according to the seller on ebay should fit but will they really fit?? I don't trust autofitment guides (see link) but what to do with the axles.. do I just brush off the surface rust and blast them with rustoluem?? Should I replace the outer bolts and cap?? Any input or suggestions are always welcome..
