Correct Rack & Pinion

Hello everyone,

I have a 54 chevy pick up with a big block in it. Right now I have a R&P from a 76 Mustang II. The problem is the steering is real sensitive and you turn the wheel a little and your almost in the next lane. I have heard of people using an 88 T-Bird rack and also a 93 Mustang rack. I have had the pressure reduced in my Saginaw pump but that did not help. I also am changing the front springs. I had Mustang V8 springs but I foolishly cut off one coil. Now the springs have settled and my lower A-frames are no longer parallel with the ground. Finally do I buy 2" dropped spindles now or do I wait to see where the ride height is after these new springs settle? Thanks everyone for your help.
