Task Force - Gas Pedal Binding
Yeah, I DID a search on "gas pedal". I came up with THIS:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...archid=3838120 All the 47-59 "gas pedal" threads. Nothing mentions problems with binding. I took mine off, wire wheeled everything, painted, lubed with white molybdenum grease and it still binds slightly and will not return fully to idle. I am missing a pedal so I just hook my toe under the rod to get it to return to idle but obviously, that is not gonna cut it. Yes, I can and MAY go with an eBay aftermarket gas pedal/cable assembly but it seems like it shouldn't be a hard thing to fix. Am I missing something simple? Yes, the return spring is nice and strong and the carb doesn't seem to be binding.
