Transmission Problem

So my problem is that my 68's transmission isn't shifting right. Fluid level is right and I believe the TV cable is adjusted right. Its not the firmness of the shifts just the timing more or less. It winds to roughly 4k and has to kinda hold there for a second before it'll shift out of 1st gear.

I was just wondering what advice you all had for it. I've not had time to actually work on it for a while. It was shifting fine a few months back but I ended up moving around not really able to drive it or move it with me until about 2 weeks ago.

Honestly I think it just needs drove a little to work things free. But I've been afraid to drive it much so that I don't burn up anything in the transmission.

Its a '83 700r4 that was rebuilt about a year ago but I'd guess less then 5k miles on it since it was built.
