Storage in the Door or Overhead Console??

I did some searching my maybe my fu is weak

I am redoing the interior of my 70 burb and thought it would be nice to create some sort of door panel with storage. Maybe a panel with a part that hangs down/flush with the lower part of the door?

Anyone ever build an overhead console for our burbs or trucks? I would like something with map/paper storage over the visors and maybe put a ham or cb radio in the middle...or switches.

I run both ham and cb radios so I would like one up high and the other low so I can tell which is talking when on the trail.

Seems like between all the metal up front/top and the rib about the seat position there is plenty of mounting options.
